When I began as a cake designer several years ago, alans book was indespensable; I still find it so today. His step by step instructions are easy to follow,the pictures excellent..the flower colourings are most helpful. The outcome of following his instructions seems to me succssful every time.

A wonderfully illustrated book showing the whole process of making sugarcraft flowers for Wedding and other celebration cakes. He breaks down the flowers and foliage into easy to follow stages. My only small critism is after arranging the sprays as per book I did have some problems with the mechanics of getting such large arrangements into the correct positions safely. I had the plaeasure of seeing the author demonstrate at the NEC Sugarcraft Exhibition 1998 and went straight home and ordered two of his books - a joy to read.

When I received a copy of Antonia Swinsons The Wedding Planner in the post, accompanied with a sentimental note from my mother, I couldnt help thinking how soppy and OTT it all was.However, once I opened the pages I couldnt help but become absorbed by it. It has everything you need! With sections for Stationery, Planning, Wedding Day, Gift List and Honeymoon, to name but a few, it manages to make even the scattiest bride organised. The book boasts an up to date directory at the back that has everything from dresses to cakes to favours. I found my cake supplier and my wedding dress, by using this book! Each section has a handy pocket, essential for those post-it notes, handy telephone numbers and swatches of fabric. There are also blank pages on which to write your thoughts and, dare I say it, stresses! These shall soon become treasured memories and, hopefully (!), even the stressful ramblings shall be looked back on with great affection. Along with the copious notes pages, which have been invaluable, there are pages on traditional and contemporary wedding etiquette, helpful ideas and inspiring full colour photographs of real weddings. It really is a must-have item, for any bride-to-be! Buy it now!
